Watson wants first team chance

Exeter City striker Ben Watson has said that he is desperate for a first team opportunity.

The diminutive frontman has been in prolific goalscoring form for the reserves this season, and many fans have called for Watson to be given a chance in City`s misfiring strike force.

Watson was one of the heroes of the Grecians promotion back to the Football League 18 months ago, scoring the crucial penalty that put City back on level terms with Torquay at Plainmoor in the playoff semi-finals. However, since then, he has struggled with injury but Watson told the Express and Echo he is over his injury problems "All my injuries are done. They were an absolute nightmare, and that`s maybe why it`s taking a while to get back into the side, but I`ve been fit for two and a half months now". Despite being named on the bench for the matches against Charlton and Swindon, Watson has yet to feature for the first team this year and went onto say "I want my chance, it hasn`t come yet but I just want to play for Exeter and hopefully do well.
