Opponents in Focus: GILLINGHAM @ Exeter
Gillingham visit St. James Park this Bank Holiday Monday to take on Paul Tisdale`s Exeter City.
There is a startling contrast between the Kent side`s home and away form. Their strong home form is keeping their head`s above water. At the Priestfield, the Gills have won seven, drawn three, and lost two games - including the Boxing Day defeat ay home to Brentford.
However, they have the worst away record in League 1, with just a solitary point from eleven games. This is a remarkable contrast. It is reasonable to believe the various disadvantages that come from playing away from home amount to this level of discrepancy between home and away results.
Mark Stimson`s side need to pick up some points away from home soner rather than later, otherwise the pressure on their home form will become unbearable and they will ultimately struggle to remain in League 1.
