Reserves enjoy success in Wales

Reserves enjoy success in Wales

City`s second string triumphed 2-1 yesterday afternoon over Swansea Reserves thanks to Ben Watson`s brace of penalties.

Watson netted two first half spot kicks after Swansea had taken an early lead.

City`s youthful line-up started the stronger but fell behind to a stunning strike that Artur Krysiak could do nothing about.

City were level as soon as the 23rd minute when Ben Watson was fouled in the penalty area. The striker dusted himself down to convert the spot kick himself.

Two minutes before the break Jake Thomson won City`s second penalty of the afternoon and Watson was clinical again from 12 yards to score what proved to be the winning goal.

The City line-up had a youthful feel about it with Dan Western, Scott Bennett, Elliot Frear, Aaron Dawson and Jack Furzer all starting along with other first team fringe players.

City Lined-Up: Krysiak, Western, Furzer, Bennett, Heath, Frear, Shephard, Dawson, Thomson, Norwood, Watson.
