Sercombe linked with January move

Exeter City could face a battle to keep hold of young midfield starlet Liam Sercombe in the January transfer window.

Rumours are rife about interest from Premier League clubs Fulham and Wolves. Championship outfits Preston and Reading have also been mentioned with a potential move for the 20 year-old along with divisional rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Sercombe has been in fine form this season for the Grecians, holding down a regular spot in City`s midfield thanks to a string of impressive displays. Last weekend he bagged his first goal of the season, a stunning volley against the above mentioned Sheffield Wednesday in a 5-1 victory.

Sercombe is a product of Exeter City`s academy, an academy that in recent years has produced players such as Dean Moxey, George Friend and Dan Seaborne.

Paul Tisdale`s side are enjoying a largely successful season and the boss is unlikely to want to offload any first-teamers in January.
