Woodman could join Exeter?

Exeter are interested in signing Craig Woodman, although his arrival is dependant on the future of a current Grecians player.

Billy Jones is out of contract this summer but Exeter are in talks with him, and four other players, about extending his stay at St James Park.

Should this prove successful then South West born Woodman is a player that Paul Tisdale will opt against, it seems, should Jones decide to move onto pastures new then the Brentford man is an option.

Tisdale, as he told The Express and Echo, knows what his 'intent' is but wants to 'keep his options open' this summer: 'until Billy signs I'm keeping my options open. Craig is someone I like, he's a good left-back and he's a local boy being from Tiverton. But at this stage our intent is to re-sign Billy.

'If he doesn't sign then we will look for the best left-back we can find for the money we can pay. There is a deadline (for Jones) and I think it is within reason. It would be unreasonable to offer someone something one day and then expect a decision the next.

'I don't want players to sign under duress, but there has to be a point where they are fair to us as well. He knows where we are now and I would expect to put that to a conclusion reasonably soon.'

Do you that Billy Jones will sign a new contract with Exeter? If not do you think that Brentford's Craig Woodman would make a good signing?
