New Exeter deal for Keohane

Jimmy Keohane has agreed a new deal to keep him with Exeter next season.

Having made his debut against Liverpool in the Carling Cup last season the midfielder made six appearances in total but was out of contract.

A new one-year contract has been agreed though with Paul Tisdale, as he told the official website, more than happy with this: 'Jimmy is a player who developed very strongly after Christmas and he is a player who is in a bracket where I'm hoping for rapid development. I'm pleased he's re-signed.

'He played in the early parts of the season, away at Charlton and against Liverpool and Notts County at home - games where there was an opportunity with strikers out and he could play that role as a runner from midfield.

'We have to get the balance of the squad right, its not just first team players its also about squad players and young players - future players who can become first team players.

'He was more than happy to continue his time with us because he is improving quickly.'

Exeter are still awaiting decisions from other players offered new contracts, but the Irishman's decision to stay must please Grecians fans?
