A fully fit Sercombe will attract interest

A fully fit Sercombe will attract interest

If Liam Sercombe can stay injury free and find his best form Paul Tisdale isn't anticipating him staying with Exeter too much longer.

The Exeter manager, as he told BBC Sport, is convinced that had injuries not struck the midfielder last season then he would have already been sold: 'he's had an unfortunate 12 months with two very untimely injuries.

'I think had he had a full season he would have been sold already.'

Should the 22-year-old find the form that he's capable of and avoid those injuries, as said, then Tisdale is expecting 'one or two' to be interested in making a move in the early stages of next season: 'ultimately if clubs want to take him they'll have to pay for him.

'We are a selling club like most other clubs and if the price is right we'll take an offer on any player.

'He had a disjointed season last year and if he starts this year well and scores goals and contributes heavily in our performances I'd imagine there'd be one or two interested very early on.'

It's just a matter of time before the Devon-born man leaves St James Park then?
