Hometown lure too much for Stewart

The lure of a return to his hometown club of Bristol Rovers, where it all began, for Marcus Stewart has proved too much so he has ended his time with Exeter.

Stewart came to St James Park in the twilight of his career, notching his 250th league goal during his time with The Grecians, before joining the coaching staff upon his retirement in April 2011.

An offer to become youth development coach with Bristol Rovers proved to strong for him and he leaves the club to join them after four-years with Exeter.

No one could begrudge him this move and he will, I am sure, be wished well by all.
