Amankwaah Shocked At Release

Amankwaah Shocked At Release

Kevin Amankwaah has admitted he was both shocked and disappointed to not be offered an extended deal with Exeter.

Speaking to the Exter Express and Echo after Tisdale admitted it was a really hard choice to let the defender go, he said for himself.

'I was shocked to be honest, I thought I had done well for Exeter, but it's the manager's decision and he has decided not to keep me on. I think he wants to bring the youth through but I certainly thought I was good enough for a new deal.'

The 30 year old dismissed suggestions that his ankle injury had any part to play in the decision, but admitted it was that much of a shock because he hadn't bothered to investigate other options yet as he assumed he would remain with the club.
