Coach Takes Premier League Promotion

Our U18 coach Kevin Nicholson will leave Exeter this summer to join Premier League newbies Cardiff City.

He will become the head coach for their age group U17 to U21 and will also become the U18 youth team manager.

He joined Exeter last October after 6 years at Derby County and he is one of only 16 coaches in the Country who was selected by the FA for their pilot Elite Coaches Award course.

Speaking to the Official Site he said whilst he very happy about the move and the challenge it would give him, he did leave Exeter with a heavy heart as he owes us so much.

'I'm delighted to have been given the opportunity to join a club the size of Cardiff and to take on a very important role within their Academy. I've throughly enjoyed my time at Exeter, it's a wonderful club, full of excellent people. It's been a valuable experience for me and one in which I've learnt a lot. I'm sure that will stand me in good stead for my next challenge at Cardiff. I'm also sad to be leaving, because I've built up very good relationships. Everyone has been fantastic with me during my time here. Exeter took a chance on me back in October, when there was no other club prepared to do so at that time. I will always be grateful.'

The club obviously say that he leaves us with the best of wishes and the best of luck as he continues to develop and progress his own career, and he adds himself that even though he has only been here a short space of time he feels very privileged for the opportunity we have allowed him.
