Tisdale Wishes Cureton Could Stay
With rumours suggesting that Jamie Cureton is on the verge of signing for Cheltenham Town, Paul Tisdale has again said he would've loved Cureton to remain but it wasn't to be.
Speaking to the Western Morning News Tisdale again explained that he simply didn't have it in his budget to keep our top scorer, even though clearly he's going to be a big loss for us and difficult to replace.
'He was another player I'd have loved to have kept if I could, I just couldn't do it. So I am disappointed, but I am very pleased with the contribution he has made, twice, to us. I wish him very well and have got a lot of time for him.'
Tisdale adds that he is disappointed that the core of the team he was building is unfortunately being dismantled because of financial issues, but he knows that's the nature of the beast at Exeter and simply can't be helped.
He's hopeful however that with the players offered contracts, that it will be plain sailing as they have expressed a desire to stay, and he hopes it remains that way.
