Manager Paul Tisdale has said that he was pleased with a well earned point against Oxford United.
Exeter played out a scoreless draw on Tuesday evening at the Kassam Stadium, and whilst it was entertaining the gaffer thought, he was slightly disappointed that we didn't create a few more clear cut chances throughout the 90 minutes.
Speaking to the Official Site following the match, Tisdale said it was difficult to be too disappointed as it's another good point for us in terms of the league table, and we at least remain unbeaten in our last two.
'It's a good point. Considering the two games we've had, we've had two clean sheets and some very considered play. There were some tired legs, it's has to be said - but I thought we played very pragmatically.'
One thing the gaffer did pick out was our inability on the day to burst forward when opportunities arose, but again that's something he puts down to the tiredness of the players, so again he won't be too critical of that, even though he'd have liked the players to maybe give that 10% extra and not be as safe in how we worked.
Despite the game plan, his half time talk and the changes he made to the personnel as the second half progressed, he admits it was mainly a case of both teams just shutting each other down and matching whatever was on offer, as was ever tweak that was made which opened the game up more, still didn't really dent either team when it came to defending in the final third, as defences were certainly well on top throughout.
As for Alan Gow's potential penalty shout in the game, Tisdale admits he's not in the position of being able to claim that the referee got it wrong, because he feels it was worth a shout, but he didn't think it was overly clear cut - it's one of those penalty claims you'll never get two weeks in a row, and during a season they will go for you and against you.
