We Missed Our Chances Against Burton
Paul Tisdale was slightly disappointed with our loss to Burton Albion yesterday, saying we missed too many good chances in the game to get something from it.
Speaking to the Official Site following the one nil loss, the manager pointed to the number of chances we effectively wasted in the first 88 minutes of the match, before Burton hit us with a sucker punch two minutes from time.
John O'Flynn and Alan Gow had two glorious chances in the first half to almost put the game out of sight for Burton, but it was one of those days where things just didn't fall for us.
'We missed some very good chances, you can't miss chances like that and then give a soft corner away like that in the last minute of the game.'
Tisdale admits that there keeper did make some fine saves on the day, but he knows we have to do better than that because all we seemed to achieve over 90 minutes was contriving to miss.
Despite the loss and our failure to take our chances when they came, otherwise Tisdale was pleased with our overall performance saying that even though we lost, we played really well, but there is a lesson for the players as he adds that if Exeter want to be successful this season and build on our start these are the types of games that we can't afford to lose, and especially in the manner in which we lost.
Despite the positives, the overriding negative for the gaffer is that the corner and the goal we conceded for him was an 'absolute giveaway.'
