We Must Focus Against Portsmouth
Manager Paul Tisdale has warned the players that they need much better concentration levels when we face Portsmouth this weekend following our loss to Burton last time out.
Speaking to the Exeter Express and Echo ahead of the game Tisdale repeated that he didn't think there was too much wrong with our performance against Burton, outside of what he picked out in terms of us not quite being on the same page together at key moments, but at the end of the day football is about winning or losing, and we need to get back to winning.
'Going into the Portsmouth game I want a focus. I'm not trying to remedy anything that happened or didn't happen last week. It's a new game and it's a new set of challenges, but we have to remain focused if we want to stay on course.'
It's been a good season so far and despite the late loss to Burton we still sit within the play off spots in the league, and a victory would push us closer to the automatic spaces again which is what everyone wants.
Tisdale said one thing that the players will have to deal with, and in fact should relish, is performing in front of such a large and noisy crowd given the home support that Portsmouth muster. If we want to put this club up the leagues, then being able to deal with crowds like that is one of the challenges, and the players can't afford to be intimidated by the noise levels and he even adds that if the players are, he'll actually be disappointed in them because football is all about performing on the big stage and in this league Portsmouth are one of the biggest ones, and it should help bring out the best in us.
Ahead of the game, the gaffer also doesn't have any fresh injury concerns, leaving only Danny Butterfield and Jamie Reid out as they continue their recoveries from various knocks.
