'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Davies - We Remain Spirited

Midfielder Arron Davies has said that the players remain full of heart despite yet another defeat on the bounce.

Speaking to the Official Site following the 3-1 defeat to Rochdale yesterday, the midfielder explained that although we were obviously on a bad run of form, the players still had faith and confidence that this could be turned around and that's exactly what they will be aiming to do come Tuesday when we face Wycombe Wanderers.

The players will have obviously taken a bit of a confidence hit because it wasn't the first game that we have been well in with a shout of getting something from it before a small and basic mistake put the game beyond us again and Davies does admit that makes it worse for the players at full time because of how close the match was, even though the score line doesn't imply it.

'Half a yard in football can be massive. It's those fine margins that are costing us at the minute. When it was at one all I thought we were going to win it, they were on the back foot, we hit the post and had a couple of chances, but we got done with a sloppy goal.'

Davies goes on to say that he doesn't feel anyone can question their commitment or their effort during games as they are giving their all, but again the sloppy mistakes are costing us.

With all that said he did also admit in the interview that there is a certain desperation to get a result now creeping in and the players have to watch that as it could make things worse, they just need to remain confident and believe in their own abilities and hopefully we can stem this patch in mid week.

'We've got a quick turnaround now and we go to Wycombe with a positive attitude. We'll go into the game believing we can win it, and we need a result.'
