'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tisdale Proud Following Fleetwood Win

Manager Paul Tisdale has said he felt nothing but pride after seeing the team battle to a good three nil victory over high flying Fleetwood Town.

The three points shot us five places up the table following Saturday's fixtures, and whilst the result was all important, Tisdale told the Official Site that the manner of the victory absolutely delighted him.

'The performance was going to be secondary to the result, but when you play that well, it really does warm your heart and gives you plenty of encouragement going forward. It was a comprehensive performance - it wasn't over complicated, and we played with real tempo and were connected.'

Tisdale goes on to say that the players were fully committed to both the cause and the game plan, and we knew it would be a very tough game because Fleetwood are a quality side, but given where we are and our run of form, to see us play with that freedom delighted him and made him incredibly proud.

'It's only one win, we have to keep our nerve whether we win or lose. It's something we've said, we don't get upset and we don't get too excited. But it's an important three points and it really was encouraging.'

What really counted for the gaffer though was that he believes the victory was 100% deserved and we weren't lucky, or fortuitous in anyway, any luck we may have got in the game we worked bloody hard for in his eyes, and a slice of luck with how a ball bounces is something we haven't had for quite a while, and we worked for it and we got it.

'It's amazing how that happens when a team is fully committed and playing with that kind of gusto, and we did.'

Tisdale didn't quite not pick out single players for praise following the match, he effectively name checked the entire team attributing pleasure to each of them for one thing or another other, whether it was Eliot Richards for his brace, or Artur Krysiak for keeping a clean sheet.

Importantly, the gaffer ended by talking about his pleasure at giving the fans something to really cheer about because he knows it's been a long time coming and he was delighted for them.
