Tisdale - Derby Victory Is Always Huge

Manager Paul Tisdale has said that a derby day victory is always huge regardless of how it comes following our two nil victory over Plymouth Argyle.

The midweek match saw us come out two one winners thanks to goals from Liam Sercombe and Eliot Richards and the fact we had to come from behind in the game makes the win almost even sweeter as we build on our three match unbeaten run that has seen two fantastic victories in it.

Speaking to the Official Site Tisdale was clear that the victory was for the fans more than anything else because he knows they haven't had an awful lot to shout about this season.

For the team however, it was a performance he really expects from this team.

'I'm delighted with the team and the way we played, and of course the result, which at this stage is everything. I don't think there will be too many teams near the bottom that will play that way under this sort of pressure and in these circumstances - that's what I'm proud about. Our team played their football and played so well.'

The gaffer goes on to say that conceding the goal we did after our first half efforts in the 45th minute was 'galling' because he felt we deserved so much more, but he couldn't credit more the belief of the team because they knew they could come back and win, and they did just that.

'We finished strong and we played our game, and that's what I'm proud about.'

Pride seems to be the overriding factor for the gaffer and back to back victories has been something we needed to push up the table, and the hope has to be that we can now push on and build further.
