Exeter 0-1 Reading

Exeter 0-1 Reading

A mixed Exeter side were narrowly defeated by Reading in our St James Park encounter yesterday.

With fitness and getting a run out the only real concern, manager Paul Tisdale won't be too disappointed with the result, but he would've been pleased with the effort shown and some of the football we played.

An early goal for Reading was enough to still separate the teams at full time, but City certainly had the opportunities to have levelled and their gaffer Nigel Adkins would've been pleased with the performance of their keeper Mikkel Andersen.

Each side named different teams for the first and second half to give every player a run out, and Tisdale included U18 midfielder Alex Byrne in the first half selection after impressing in training, whilst trialist Christian Ribiero was named in the second half selection.

Only Christy Pym and Jordan Tillson played all 90 minutes for us.
