Exeter Add Ribeiro

Exeter City have today confirmed the signing of Christian Ribeiro.

The 24 year old had been on trial at the club in pre season and training with us, but picked up an injury shortly before the lifting of the transfer embargo.

But with him coming along in his recovery work and the obvious embargo no longer being in place, discussions were had to firm up and finalise the deal now as it was no secret manager Paul Tisdale wanted to add the twice capped Welshman to our ranks.

He's not likely to feature for us until September though as he continues to recover and get his fitness up.

Ribeiro has been handed the No 6 shirt.

Speaking to the Official Site as the signing was announced the gaffer was pleased to now know he is with us for the season.

"Christian is a versatile player that can play in two or three positions. He's strong, he has good experience and good quality and he is someone that suits Exeter. In many ways he's potentially a good signing. I'm hoping he comes back to fitness, stays fit and gets in the team. He'll play football as soon as he's fit."

The gaffer goes on to say that being 24, he does have good experience behind him which can only be an asset to our youthful set up, so he brings a good mix with him and is still young enough to really show improvement in the coming years.
