Tisdale - We Deserved At Least A Point

Tisdale - We Deserved At Least A Point

Manager Paul Tisdale has said he was bitterly disappointed at full time in the tough game against Northampton Town because he felt the least we deserved following our efforts was a point from the game.

Speaking to the Official Site after seeing Northampton take all three points in the final minute of the game, the gaffer said it was a very bitter pill to swallow because of how close we came to having something to show for the game.

'We are very disappointed because it's a late goal. No matter what the game or the performance, when you get that close at the end to a point or a result, it's difficult to take.'

Tisdale admits that in some ways maybe their goal was coming because they were attacking the box more as the game drew to a close, so a late goal is always possible in those circumstances but over the course of the game he felt we had dealt with their threats well and held out brilliantly so for him a clean sheet was the least we deserved on the day.

'We had some really big performances, I'm very proud of how the players were committed. They were fantastic, I'm delighted with how they played.'

Having come away with the loss though that makes the feeling even more gutting as although he knows we didn't do enough to win it, he really feels a draw wouldn't have been unfair on Exeter.

Another case of more positives than negatives but again not the result we wanted.
