S.O.S - Same Old Story

Just look at the match report for Saturday, or the Shrewsbury home game, and you'll have this one too.

City passed the ball very well, and went in level at half-time thanks to a Ryan Harley equaliser.

Adam Stansfield was busy and certainly a threat before the break, but, sorry to say, he's lacking confidence in the vital 'hitting the net' side of his game.

City still looked the classier outfit after the break - albeit against an under-strength Shrews side - but it was the visitors who got themselves into the hat for the second round with an injury time winner from Ben Davies.

To sum it up in stats. One goal from nine shots on target for City. Two goals in three on target for the Shrews.

We're not a million miles away, but somehow we have to get more clinical.

Star Player

We saw a good energetic half hour from Manny Panther, and he really does look like the all-action midfielder we thought we'd got. He's certainly a key member of our first team squad, and I wonder whether there'll be room for him in Saturday's starting eleven?
