Exeter City Reserves Beat Swansea

Exeter City Reserves beat their Swansea City counterparts 1-0 last night at St. James Park.

Liam Sercombe staked a claim for a first team place after scoring the only goal after just four minutes. The 19 year old curled cut inside his marker and curled a sublime shot past Swans keeper David Cornell to ensure the City reserve side remain unbeaten this season.

The Grecians fielded a strong side, with nine of the starting eleven featuring in last week`s Johnstone`s Paint Trophy penalty shoot-out defeat to Swindon Town. Crowd favourite Richard Logan was given the man of the match award but it remains to be seen whether Paul Tisdale trusts his with a starting place at Walsall on Saturday. Troy Archibald Henville, Adam Stansfield and Barry Corr all started, and surely Henville will return to the starting line up at the Banks` Stadium.
