Exeter brush aside Nuneaton

Exeter City comfortably progressed to the second round of the FA Cup with a 4-0 victory at Nuneaton Town.

The Grecians exercised the ghosts of last seasons defeat at Curzon Ashton by scoring four first goals.

Captain Matt Taylor scored two goals on his 100th appearance for the club in what was a professional if unspectacular performance.

Taylor opened the scoring in only the fourth minute from close range, and Barry Corr doubled City`s lead just after the half hour with a shot from 25 yards. Eight minutes from half time it was three when a save from Nuneaton`s keeper rebounded off the unfortunate Guy Hadland and into the net. And City made it a first half to remember when Taylor headed in unmarked from an Alex Russell corner just before half time.
